Annual Garden Party 11th July 2015

Many thanks to everyone who helped to make the Garden Party such a success especially those who helped with the teas, the stalls and the games. The weather held out until almost all the clearing up was done. Business was brisk as soon as Canon David Finney gave the go-ahead to “spend up”. As usual the cake stall sold out first, and our grand total is in the region of £1,100.

Harvest Festival Service and Harvest Tea 14th September 2014

St James Harvest Festival coincided this year with the Heritage Weekend, and so we were open on Saturday morning and afternoon and Sunday morning in addition to our Harvest Festival and Tea in the Parish Hall. We had 22 visitors including a couple from Bielefeld, and visitors spent around half an hour in the church so it was a worthwhile exercise.

The Harvest Festival was well attended with over 70 in church and we enjoyed the address from Canon Roger Smith from St James Haslingden about the history of Harvest Festivals. Afterwards, a record number turned up for tea which was a magnificent ending to a fantastic year of celebration. Thank you to all who have supported us.
