We are delighted to welcome the Reverend Stephen Nolan as our new incumbent for the Benefice of Norden St Paul with Ashworth St James and Bamford St Michael. He was installed as our new minister at a very well attended service at St Michael’s on Sunday 17th July by the Right Reverend Mark Davies, Bishop of Middleton and the Venerable Cherry Vann, Archdeacon of Rochdale. The service was followed by a splendid buffet in St Michael’s school hall which gave many people the opportunity to speak with Stephen personally. We are looking forward to a long and happy time together.

Many thanks to everyone who helped to make the Garden Party such a success especially those who helped with the teas, the stalls and the games. The weather held out until almost all the clearing up was done. Business was brisk as soon as Canon David Finney gave the go-ahead to “spend up”. As usual the cake stall sold out first, and our grand total is in the region of £1,100.
